Meaning Again is an Australian based business that hosts a globally accessible website to link employers and disabled candidates.  Mainly functioning as a job search engine, Meaning Again aims to connect disabled candidates to prospective employers resulting in providing employers with candidates equipped with specialized talents and skills and allowing employees to live a life full of Meaning Again.

 

Founder

The founder of Meaning Again is Jan Adriaan Pelser, a South African that moved to Australia in search of new opportunities and a new life.  Four months into his new life in Australia, Jan Adriaan was admitted to hospital and diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome.  Within 48 hours Jan Adriaan’s life changed from preparing for the Boston Marathon to temporarily being paralysed from the neck down.  In most cases the Guillian-Barré Syndrome takes an average of six months to two years to fully recover from.

Within the fourth month of recovery Jan Adriaan’s employers understandably and respectfully couldn’t wait for him any longer and unfortunately had to terminate his employment.  Feeling that his life had no meaning anymore, Jan Adriaan knew that other people would have gone through similar scenarios before. This resulted in creating Meaning Again to help disabled people find work and give their life Meaning Again.

SANTA FUN RUN

This is Jan Adriaan Pelser running the Variety Children’s Charity Santa Fun Run in Sydney, a month before he was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome.
